Little Dragon Naomi Piper-Pell delivered 1,173 diapers to Wellspring Women and Children’s Center today as part of her Little Dragon Black Belt Project.  Naomi also volunteered several times at Wellspring and held a car wash to raise money to buy diapers.  A hearty thanks is due to everyone who made donations or otherwise assisted Naomi with her project!

Naomi also attended the belt testing and awards ceremony last night at the Coloma Center.  She got to have a little open floor practice time before the ceremony and I got to try out my new-to-me 5D for the first time doing sports.  It’s no 1 Series, but I’ll get used to it.  The high ISO performance is pretty stunning though and helps to make up for the slow FPS and autofocus.  Tradeoffs, tradeoffs – unless one can step up to the 1Ds and get it all.  Someday, it will be mine : )

Emil and Luca have reached their black belts and will soon move on to the Juniors class.  They went through their forms for Sensei Oliver, answered questions on Isshinryu karate and even got to break a board in front of the class.
